Couple Outfits

Let’s face it: love makes fool of us all. However you spin it, romance always has a way of making us do the craziest things. These manifest in silly gestures, in late-nights spending time with each other to laughing so hard that liquid comes out of your nose. The high that we get when we’re in love inspires us to be better – and this should translate to our style.

Couple outfits might seem like an incredibly cheesy idea, but it’s a fashion trend that is worth noting. You and your lover are not limited to the conventional couples’ tees (although we won’t say no to that). There are subtle and stylish ways to match your outfits and show the world just how awesome a couple you are.

Tip Number One: Wear the Same Color

Matching couple outfits don’t have to be complicated. The easiest way to match is to wear the same color. To avoid looking too monotonous, you can mix up accessories to inject a sense of personal style. Check out this guide to see how to properly wear an outfit of the same color. It is important to remember that you want to still be you while being part of a duo. Love is never logical, so math has no role here. One plus one does equal two but also remains being one.

Tip Number Two: Alternate Colors

Bored with monochrome? Matching outfits are not limited to just wearing the same tops and bottoms. You and your love can still look stylish in alternating colors. Take inspiration from the many celebrity couples who alternate their outfits. For example, women can wear a skirt or pants that are the same color as her beau’s jacket or shirt. This is an incredibly easy way to look cutely synchronized. We recommend trying for vibrant colors for the more fashion-forward couples.

There are so many color combinations out there, you definitely won’t run out of alternating outfit ideas.

Tip Number Three: Be Sporty Together

If you and your other are more athletic, go for the sporty look. You can go simple by just wearing the same varsity jacket. If you want to go all out, we’d suggest rocking out a jersey combo. Women who don’t want to look like they’ve just been to the gym can go for the more β€œathleisure” look while her beau can go more classically athletic style.

Tip Number Four: Be Bonggang-Bongga!

Couple outfits are not limited to casual day outs. Establish yourselves as a power couple with similar high-fashion outfits. Go to work with similar work jackets (look for complementing patterns for couples that don’t want to look too alike). Looking stylish in a well-cut suit can immediately transport you and your beau into another fashion realm. Remember though that the key to this look is wearing tailored outfits. If you are looking for a crisp look, always (and we mean ALWAYS) make sure that your suit or jacket fits well. Being a power couple takes a lot of work, but we know you can pull this off!

Tip Number Five: Grease-piration

Rock those leather jackets! Okay, sometimes we can get lazy. But this is no reason to stop being stylish! Another easy way to match as a couple is to wear different leather jackets. Your boyfriend can go for an edgier biker look, while you can pair your simple tee and jeans with a more subtle leather cover.

To go all-out, we’d recommend going for leather boots too. The beautiful part of this look? You can pair the jacket with practically anything. The leather cover is enough to keep you looking synchronized, so wear whatever you want, ladies!

Tip Number Six: Wear His Shirt (Or Look Like it Anyway)

This is technically not a matching couple idea, but it’s something we thought worth mentioning anyway. Nothing screams β€œwe’re a couple” more than looking like you wear each other’s clothes whenever possible. Women who rock the boyfriend shirt look look effortlessly sexy. The key here is to choose a shirt that fits well. You can look like a hobo in an overlarge shirt (not to mention that this does nothing for your figure, by the way). We also have an excellent guide on how to modernize the classic button-up blouse which you can read here.
