Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser Review
There’s a reason why cleansing is the first step of skin care. Cleansing gets rid of all the dirt, grime, and bacteria accumulated on our face throughout the day, whether it be from pollution, weather, having makeup all day long, and other factors. Cleansing freshens us up, and cleans our face, allowing it to breath and become a blank slate.
This is why it’s highly important to have a cleanser that your skin gets along with. A cleanser is your first weapon in line to rid your skin of all accumulated impurities. When looking for a cleanser, it’s important that it must be a gentle one, so that it doesn’t feel stripping and that it doesn’t damage your face.
For today’s review, we’ll be taking a look at a gentle cleanser that incorporates a superfood. Read on through our Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser review to see if this one’s for you.
About the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
The Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser isn’t like any other cleanser out there. It’s actually a 3-in-1 product. The Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser can be used as a first step makeup remover, a second step cleanser, or a clarifying mask. How’s that for a product that covers almost all bases?
The Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser comes in two sizes, a smaller 30ml one and the full-sized 160ml. Both sizes are contained in a clear glass bottle, with a lavender-toned pump. The packaging may be less quirky than other Glow Recipe products, but it still has a lot of aesthetically-pleasing spirit to it.
Once pumped out of the bottle, the Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser has a gel texture to it, with bits of blueberry skin in its formula, showing consumers that the blueberry in the name of this cleanser isn’t just all talk. Of course, one should also expect the fresh, fruity scent that comes with it. The Blueberry Bounce Cleanser is great for all skin types, except for those with dry skin. Additionally, the brand notes that this product is not for people who are sensitive to glycolic acid and lactic acid.
Benefits of the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
As the name of the product implies, this cleanser shines a light on blueberries and their amazing, skin-saving power. As a fruit, a blueberry is known for its health benefits and has even been crowned as a superfood. The brand also claims that the Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser has the following benefits:
- Hydrates the skin without stripping it
- Reduce blemishes
- Combat breakouts over time
- Can dull dead skin cells
- Gel formula
Ingredients of the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
The Blueberry Bounce Cleanser incorporates the following core ingredients:
- Blueberry extract – Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, the blueberry fruit helps combat free radicals to prevent premature aging. It also naturally hydrates, calms inflammation, and minimizes discoloration. Blueberry keeps your skin looking fresh.
- Hyaluronic Acid – Keeps the skin hydrated as it deeply moisturizes and makes the skin supple.
- AHA – Gentle exfoliating acids that remove dead skin buildup and refine pores.
- Hydrating Suds – These are microfoaming bubbles that effectively remove makeup, dirt, and grime for the perfect skincare base
The Blueberry Bounce Cleanser contains a lot of items in its ingredients list: Water, Palm Kernel/Coco Glucoside, Caulerpa Lentillifera (Seaweed) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Physalis Peruviana (Groundcherry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Morus Nigra (Mulberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Beta-Glucan, Scutellaria Baicalensis (Skullcap) Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa (Peony) Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Fragrance.
As you can see, the list of ingredients doesn’t have any preservatives in it. Moreover, palm kernel/coco glucoside is also a gentle foaming agent that has skin conditioning and emulsifying properties. You’ll be certain that when washing your face with this product, it won’t leave your skin feeling stripped and dry.

Wet the hands and use two pumps to create a lather. Gently massage into wet face and neck in small, circular motions for a full minute. Rinse thoroughly with water and follow it up with your usual skincare routine.
To use as a cleanser:

Where To Buy The Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
Glow Recipe’s lineup of products are made of all-natural and vegan ingredients, and the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser is no exception. It even has bits of blueberry when you pump out the gel cleanser, making true to its claims that this product truly does make use of the fruit well and that it isn’t just all talk. Because of its blueberry included in its ingredients, it does have a fruity scent once you open up the packaging. It’s not overbearing at all — but you’re someone who isn’t fond of scented products, this might not be for you.
Unlike any other cleanser out there, the Blueberry Bounce can be used in three different ways.
As a cleanser, the Blueberry Bounce does its job: it can remove makeup well, even the toughest eye makeup. It also works as a cleanser on its own, leaving the skin soft. Although, it does leave off a slight film after rinsing.
We haven’t exactly seen a review of any cleansing product that also claims to be used as a mask and frankly, it does feel odd to use it as a wash-off mask. We can’t truly say it works well as that, especially for its price. There are better wash-off products out there in the market that have a more affordable price than this one. Apart from its dubious mask claims, we do still think it worked great as a gel cleanser, especially as a makeup eraser.
In this review, we’re giving the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser a rating of 3.5! We do think it’s a pretty good product as it does soften the face upon wash. We have some qualms about it, though. It leaves a slight film after wash; we don’t want to wash our faces way too much as it would lead to the skin feeling tight and too squeaky. We also don’t think it worked as a sleeping mask and we still stand by our claim that there are other wash-off products out there that work a lot better. Lastly, it has a rather high price tag and can put a dent in a person’s bank account.
Additionally, people who have sensitive skin might find the ingredients irritating so it’s best to patch test first before application. Still, if you want a cleanser that works both as a first step and a second step, grab this one.
