With Beauty and the Beast out and press pictures of its lead actress flooding our social media, it really is no wonder why we love Emma Watson. This gorgeous brunette stole our hearts nearly 10 years ago as the know-it-all Hermione Granger. And just as gobsmacked as Ron was when she floated into Viktor Krum’s life at the Yule Ball, we have seen Emma transform into an inspiring and breathtaking woman.
Here at Pretty Me, we strive to make the most relevant guides for the fashionable Filipina. We take the time to read your comments and suggestions and write articles that we know you’ll read and enjoy. One of the more popular requests we’ve had is for a guide that will teach you how to look a little bit like Emma Watson – her effortless look an inspiration to many of us.
We’re nothing but accommodating here at Pretty Me! We heard your requests, girls! We’ve taken a look at some of Emma’s most recent outfits from her Beauty and the Beast tour and listed down ways you can make them your own.
Fashion Idea One: Modern Chic
Emma likes to sport very put-together pieces. Reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn, she opts to choose very classical pieces. What makes her style fresh though is her ability to mix and match pieces. The key to this look is keeping a very simple base but then adding a spark of color with either a jacket or accessory. Or, you can do the opposite and wear a very trendy dress and then adding a tailored jacket such as this one:

The rule here is to look effortless. This is a play between casual and fancy. With the dress+coat combination, you can pair it with white sneakers for an even more relaxed feel or with basic pumps to look more feminine. The coat also works well with dark jeans and a floral top.
Fashion Idea Two: Blue and Black
Do you know that the original Disney film played subtle color tricks on us? In the cartoon version of Beauty and the Beast, Belle was the only one to wear blue in the entire film until the Beast became human (watch it again if you don’t believe us!). When Belle and the Beast dance, you will see that that there is a reverse of the color, with Beast wearing blue to symbolize that they are truly a pair.
Emma Watson’s tour may – on purpose or not – have reflected that. She sported a lot of blue outfits, but our favorite on was her blue and black dress she wore in France. There were no frills to the dress; everything was basic cut and meant to impress. You can do the same with a dress like this one:

We are often tempted to buy dress with so many burloloys – thinking that the sparkle and the glitz will make us more attractive. The truth is ladies, sometimes the simplest things give the most impact. By wearing a clean-cut dress in a shocking color, you pay tribute to your skin, your figure, and most of all, yourself. People won’t be distracted by anything else except how great you look! Another good reason to wear blue? Filipina skin reacts well to the shade, making the blue undertones come out. You look instantly radiant and glowing without having to wear make-up!
Fashion Idea Three: Black Leather
Arrgh. We are so in love with black and leather this season! Seriously, black is the color of the summer (we teach you how to pull off an all-black look in this fabulous guide). Emma seems to love the trend too, sporting a classic black dress with a black leather jacket when she went to London. We seriously recommend this dress:

As with the previous two ideas, the look is minimalist without being boring. There is enough detail in the bodice to keep the look fresh and clean. To fully go out with this look, you can pair this off with a biker leather jacket. Too hot, you say? Keep the Emma Watson vibe with a bright jacket or tailored blouse (another way to wear button-down blouses! See our style guide here).
