Plus, they are much more breathable than leather and materials normally used on sandals, and they’re certainly more comfortable than the rubber on flip flops. Ah, bike shorts—a warm weather favorite among celebrities and off-duty models. It’s been on the fashion circuit for a couple years now, but the trend really took off last summer when the likes of the Hadids wore oversized hoodies for the athleisure aesthetic and the Kardashians wore men’s shirts for a more sophisticated look. And now, it’s forecasted that cycling shorts are going to be the shorts of the summer, as fashion houses like Chanel, Roberto Cavalli and Fendi had their models strut down the runway in their unique interpretations of the stretchy shorts rage.

To be honest, at first the cycling shorts trend seemed a little strange, but as more celebrities embraced the stretchy shorts in their weekend wear, the more the item made sense for the spring/summer season. If you think about it, they’re pretty similar to how we treat yoga pants or leggings. When jeans are way too rigid, tight and hot for the 30-degree weather, we spring for stretchy leggings, so are bike shorts our substitute for jean shorts? Apparently so.

Thus, it’s time to say goodbye to thigh chaffing, muffin tops and jeans riding up your crotch. While denim cutoffs and other jean shorts will forever remain a staple for your summer wardrobe, feel free to switch things up with this comfy alternative.

Not sure how to wear them? Here’s what we suggest:

1.Wear them with a short dress

Got a couple of dresses hanging in your closet that are a little too short to be worn on their own? Instead of opting for spanks that still remain hidden when you pull on the frock, pair it with bike shorts. Evidently, the cycling shorts look won’t fair well with all styles of dresses. You mainly want to go for basic, simple styles, such as t-shirt dresses, shirt dresses, shift dresses, generally nothing too structured. You could also wear them with fitted dresses if they’re casual enough. Definitely avoid bandage dresses.

2. Wear them with a blazer

Might seem silly pairing the classic dinner jacket with essentially sports gear, but hey, if it’s possible to dress up yoga pants, then the same can be done with Bike Shorts from OEM. A fitted blazer creates a feminine silhouette, while a boyfriend or oversized blazer plays to the menswear vibe of the entire look. You have several options of what you can wear underneath. 4. Wear them with an oversized shirt

Perhaps the most popular way of wearing coveted bike shorts are with men’s shirts, or an oversized shirt. It’s a long way from the morning-after look as you let the shorts peek out from the hem of the shirt, although you can choose to knot it at the waist if you want to showcase the shorts as well. Then, finish the ensemble with barely there heels. If you’re leaving the shirt down, you can wear a waist belt or waist bag to create more shape, but if you’re wearing Bike Shorts with Pockets from OEM, best to keep the shirt loose. To finish that outfit, go for white sneakers or cool slides.

With the summer heat alive and kicking, we’re all planning our weekend escapes to the beach, or at least pretending to be oceanside as we soak up some rays while swimming in a pool. That means it’s time to share some outfits featuring swimsuits so that you’re ready to jump into the water at any given point.

And if you’re nowhere near a body of water or don’t have access to a pool, no worries. The awesome thing about the swimsuit outfits we’re featuring today is that they aren’t you’re typical sarong + bikini top combination that really should only be worn near the sea or a pool. While the clothing combos below are originally intended for a fashionista’s beach getaway, you can totally pull them off on the weekends in the city. Swimsuit Outfit #1: Bandeau Bikini + Overalls

I’ve mentioned this a couple times in the past, but for those who are new to the blog, if you were ever wondering how to look like and feel like an adult in the childhood staple known as overalls, wear them with some kind of cropped top. When it comes to your swimwear, think two-pieces with tops such as a cropped cami or a bandeau. A two-piece bikini from Kily is a perfect example of what type of swimsuits to match with your shortalls, skirt overalls, and just whatever kind of overalls you have in your collection.

Swimsuit Outfit #2: Cropped Bikini Top + Palazzo Pants

Palazzo pants, gauchos, and any loose, high waist pant silhouettes in general, are excellent pairings with two-pieces that have a cropped top, which normally come with high waist bottoms, like a high waist two-piece bikini from OEM. Loose pants work with a variety of silhouettes on top, though arguably the best combination that looks the best across all body types is a fitted crop top + wide leg pants. Swimwear these days have taken on a variety of silhouettes, and clearly, we’ve come a long way from the humble triangular bikini that had way too many places to tie up. Unfortunately, triangular bikini tops can’t exactly pass off as tops like most other swimsuit separates, considering anything that shape is normally dubbed as a swimsuit or a bralette. However, a basic string bikini works well with v-necks and anything low-cut that deems it difficult to wear a bra with, such as a wrap dress. Just make sure that the fabric of the wrap dress is dark or at least thick so that it conceals the lines of your bikini bottoms.

Swimsuit Outfit #4: Sexy One-Piece + Boyfriend Jeans

There are lots of ways to wear a one-piece with a plunging neckline, though perhaps our favorite look is when it’s paired with something more traditionally masculine, such as boyfriend jeans. Just imagine a low-cut one-piece swimsuit from from OEM worn with some loose denim, may it be distressed or cropped. Boyfriend jeans are great for dialing back on the revealing nature of a sexy one-piece, making the whole look more approachable in the cityscape. If you still don’t feel like you’re covered enough, throw on a blazer with matching heeled ankle boots.

Swimsuit Outfit #5: Basic One-Piece + Jogger Pants

If you’re looking for a more laid-back or sporty look, wear an athletic or basic one-piece with jogger pants and sneakers. It might only be the first full week of the new year, but we’re already wondering when we can jet set off to a new destination. Anyone else got the case of the travel blues?

Whether you’ve got a business trip next week or have travel plan in 6 months, we figured there is no harm in writing about airport-approved outfits. While it is nice to get some airport chic inspo from your favorite celebrities, what matters most is what you’re comfortable with. Jeans and stilettos might work for Ariana Grande, but they’re definitely not suited for those who don’t wear needle-like heels on a daily basis. Can you imagine running behind schedule then rushing between security and your gate, wearing sky-high Louboutins?

If you have done a fair bit of flying already, you probably have a good idea of how one should dress at an airport. And if you haven’t, don’t worry.

There isn’t one specific look you should be limiting yourself to. In fact, there are lots of different ways that you could dress comfortably for the airport, but to unlock all those possibilities, you still have a few things to keep in mind.

Here are some guidelines to follow:

1. Go for loose-fitting clothing

There is nothing wrong with wearing sweatpants, joggers and big tees to the airport. However, there are other articles of clothing in your wardrobe that can keep you comfy without looking like you’re just lounging around the house or you’re about to work out—unless of course, that IS the look you’re going for.

Any light, loose fitting clothes that are also breathable will do, such as a tee and leggings, a jersey dress, a tank and gauchos, any basic top and boyfriend jeans, and plenty more. If you do get cold easily, it’s best not to wear shorts and layer up in case it gets chilly on the plane.

The main reason for wearing loose clothing is that you’re more likely to develop blood clots if you’re in skinny jeans and other items that you can’t really move around in. Also, you’ll be walking around everywhere, so you want to wear clothes that will help you move freely in the airport.

2. Forget the underwire bra

Underwire bras are some of the most uncomfortable undergarments out there, so why put yourself through the extra pain at the airport, or risk the alarm going off when passing through the metal detector?

There are loads of non-wired options out there, such as bralettes and sports bras that will hold the girls in place without constricting them. And if you’re wearing something loose enough, a cardigan, or a scarf, feel free to go braless!

3. Bring an outer layer

Although we did say you should bring an extra layer if you get chilly pretty easily, you should bring one regardless. No matter where you’re traveling, there’s always the possibility of the plane, layover, or final destination being too cold. Obviously, if you’re headed towards winter, you should have a light, puffy jacket in your carry-on, like a Short Fur Winter Jacket. For warmer destinations, an Embroidered Letter Drawstring Design Hoodie or Floral Bomber Jacket will do.

At the very least, bring a chambray shirt to keep you warm on the plane and wear around your waist before and after the flight.

4. Wear comfy shoes you can easily slip on/off

Some people are most comfortable in sneakers, other don’t mind walking and traveling in heels. For that reason, we’re not specifying which type of footwear to go for, but rather the qualities that you should be after. First of all, you’ll need shoes that you can walk around in; second, they should be easy to take off and slip on during security checks; third, there should be enough room in your shoes in case your feet swell on the plane.

The best case scenario would be you wearing shoes that require socks, since socks offer extra comfort and warmth for your feet. Also, you don’t want to walk barefoot through security, or have your bare feet on the plane. The floor is riddled with germs! Also, they don’t clean the carpet between every flight!

5. Keep accessories to a minimum

Some of us have anxiety about setting off the alarm in security. If you’d rather not spend more than a couple minutes during your turn, keep your jewelry to a minimum. For earrings, keep them as studs, and just a small pendant necklace. If you must wear more, such as rings and watches, it’s best to take them off and put them in your bag prior to your check.

Also, don’t wear a belt, or anything that requires a belt.

Another light accessory you can bring for extra comfort and warmth on the plane is a scarf. Opt for a silk variety, since the material is suitable in both warmer and cooler environments.

6. Choose a bag with various compartments

With tickets, passports, boarding passes, gadgets, pens, notebooks and whatever you like to bring onto the plane with you, you’ll need to stay organized. Whether that’s a tote with pockets or dividers, or a backpack with various compartments, the choice is yours. The most important thing is that you have a bag that helps you find your items easily, so that you don’t have to rummage through an endless amount of stuff just to get a pen to fill out your immigration forms.

With only one more weekend before Christmas, some probably have already attended their annual holiday party. But with December being travel peak season and overseas clients working all throughout the month, plenty of companies have organized their holiday parties past the 25th, with some even having plans to hold theirs in the new year. Whatever the case may be, it’s always helpful to know what constitutes as appropriate for these kinds of shindigs.

A couple years ago, we covered style tips for your Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, but we have yet to discuss what a suitable ensemble would be for a company organized event.

You’ve likely already figured out that you can wear pretty much anything you would be okay with wearing to the office, even if it’s slightly dressier. However, we figured it’s best that we cover all the office party no-no’s, in case you needed a refresher.

All the things you should not wear at your office holiday party

1. Something that you’d wear to the club

Bars and clubs are places where you can totally experiment with your wardrobe, from the tightest of dresses to the lowest of plunging necklines.  One of the settings that should never see a bandage dress, or any other sexy silhouettes, is an office party.

It’s not just party dresses though. Anything super glittery or sparkly, basically in your face saying that you are a human disco ball, should be off limits. They’re great for NYE when partying with friends, not your office mates.

2. An outfit that makes you look like you just left the office

We get that you might have to wear a pantsuit to the office, but for everyone’s sake, loosen up a little. Sure, you do want to maintain some level of professionalism given that you are attending an office Christmas party; however, it won’t hurt to add some festive touches to your ensemble. Perhaps a green skirt with a bow tie on it, or maybe something as a simple as a white shift dress? You don’t have to go as far as wearing a white top, black waist belt and red skirt, but at least look like you dressed up for cocktail party and not a meeting.

3. A holiday themed costume

This one might seem a little silly, but in every office, there’s always at least one big personality that loves to go over the top for these annual events. Santa hats are harmless, reindeer antlers are welcomed, and Christmas brooches and jewelry do give ensembles a nice holiday twist, and unless you’ve been assigned by the party committee to dress as Mrs. Claus or an elf, leave the costumes at home. We’re all for getting into the holiday spirit, but if the memo doesn’t state that there is a specific theme for the party, then leave the costumes at home.

Also, don’t show up with Christmas tree hair.

4. Anything that lights up or jingles

Here’s another outrageous one for the list. LED lights are a beautiful way to light up a tree and decorate the entire house, but they do not belong on clothing whatsoever. While the Christmas party is a more relaxed environment than your usual office setting, there is no need to wear anything obnoxious, such as a blinking-nosed Rudolph top. Plus, how inconvenient is it to wear something that needs to be plugged into a power source?

Another thing that’s probably more distracting than clothing with flickering lights is clothing or jewelry with bells on it. While sleigh bells may look cute around your neck or wrist, they’ll only get on your nerves later on in the evening. Bells ringing every time you move an inch? Doesn’t sound like a good time to us.

5. Ugly Christmas sweaters/vests

This one depends on how big the event is, whether it’s a company-wide party or a department get-together at a bar. The ugly Christmas sweater, or any warm weather alternative to it, works among friends and family, so if it’s decided among everyone in the group that the party is gonna be of casual nature, then there are no issues. Though just to be on the safe side, you might want to go for something that is deemed a little more professional.
