Our Verdict

Does Olay brightening body wash work?

Because it’s such a well-loved product, we were curious to see how the Olay BodyScience washes fared in comparison to other body washes including previous Olay body washes. What made it so special, and do we see ourselves buying it again?

At first, I expected the Olay Body Wash to be lighter than it actually was. I also expected the scent to be overpowering (while scented body washes are amazing, I don’t want them to hurt my nose!). Fortunately, I was wrong on both counts.

The formula was creamy and lathered well, but it was light enough that I didn’t have to spend too long trying to rinse it off. The scent was strong but not overpowering. My skin felt moisturized even without the lotion, though sadly the scent did not linger on too long.

Then comes the lotion. I’ve tried other Olay lotions before and they were all pretty awesome, but I understand why this one is a favorite. You can feel instant plumpness in the skin just a few minutes after applying. The only con is the strong scent since I’m used to fragrance-free body lotions.

So, to answer our initial questions: what makes the products special is their instant nourishing feel. Right off the bat, your skin feels smooth and soft to the touch. There’s also a mild brightening effect, but it is quite temporary. Both products are affordable enough to repurchase.
