Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm Review

If you’re into skincare, you’ve definitely heard of the term double cleansing. It may even be something that you do and incorporate into your skincare routine. Basically, double cleansing is using a cleansing agent such as an oil, balm, or micellar water to remove makeup, dirt, and grime. Afterward, you cleanse your face once more — but this time, with a lathering cleanser and water.
Double cleansing ensures that the first step completely removes your makeup and that you’ve lifted off the accumulated dirt on your face, while the second step is a more thorough way that makes sure your skin is truly clean. Double cleansing gained prominence in K-beauty skincare routines, so it’s not a surprise that the majority, if not all, Korean beauty brands have their own line of cleansing balms and oils.
Beauty brand Glow Recipe isn’t one to be left behind. Introducing the Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm, Glow Recipe’s own first step cleanser. Check it out.
When Should I Use a Cleansing Balm?
Cleansing balms are usually solid in form and melt into oil when warmed up and massaged on the skin. They’re utilized to clean makeup, grime, sweat, excess sebum, and other impurities that have accumulated on the skin. It’s best to use these balms as a first-step cleanser before a lathering cleanser. They emulsify into liquid once rinsed with water.

Our Verdict
As a first-step make-up balm, Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing is a pretty good one. It does clean off the impurities accumulated on the surface without leaving the skin feeling taut and dry. It glides on smoothly like butter and has a tinge of fruity scent to it. While it gets the job done, it still does leave a tiny bit of residue so it is best to follow up with a regular face wash once you’ve rinsed this one off.

Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm
In this review, we’re giving the Papaya Cleansing Sorbet a rating of 4 out of 5! It is an excellent cleansing agent and we love the way it glides on smoothly. We like the light fruity scent as well, but if you’re not a fan of scented products, you may want to steer clear of this one.
While we do like this cleansing sorbet, its price is something that we aren’t very fond of. It’s excellent, but there are cleansing products out there that are also effective and come with a lower price tag.
