Our Verdict

The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful warm tones from this mix of colors. I’m definitely the girl who’s a sucker for nature-inspired palettes, so the concept of a sundown-inspired set really drew my attention.

But apart from those warm shades, I appreciate the inclusion of cooler tones as well. At first, I thought they didn’t quite fit with the theme, but palettes just aren’t complete without the whole range of colors. It’s a really well-thought-out design, too, because all the hues can be mixed and matched to create so many styles that you can use it on any occasion.

As we mentioned at the start of the review, the color payoff is simply wonderful. I was afraid that the hues would disappear on my eyelids, but I was wrong! Even the colors closer to my tone were visible, and the metallic ones were especially gorgeous under good lighting. The application is smooth when using a brush or your fingertips.

My only critique is the fallout, which is to be expected, so I make sure to put loose powder on my cheeks and under the eyes so the flecks of shadow don’t stick to my face.

This shadow palette IS the moment. When I first read the reviews, I was careful to lower my expectations, but honestly – this one didn’t disappoint! Solid hues, a variety of textures, and a unique concept behind it. It doesn’t hurt that it’s priced at below Php 420 – which is a good deal even without a sale, what more if it’s on sale?

In fact, many of Detail’s products are at around Php 250-500, which is very affordable, so I’m excited to explore more of what they have to offer. When I reach the pan on this shadow set, I’m definitely grabbing another one.
