How to Use the Detail Makeover Baked Highlighter
Highlighters are generally intuitive to apply and there’s no one way to do it, as each person has different facial features.
Generally, when highlighting your face, you want to apply it on top of your cheekbones to give your face an instant lift. You can start from the top of the cheek but below the undereye and draw an upwards C-shape.
For angular faces, you can draw an L-shape following the structure of your bones. For those with a rounder face, try a straight-up line to bring up your features or a C-shape to give the illusion of a more narrow face.
The best part about using a highlighter, however, is the fact that you can’t really go wrong with it. It all depends on your preference!

Our Verdict
Now, let’s get into the meat of the review. Before I dive into the actual review, let’s talk about first impressions. When I saw the shade Peach Pie, I knew I had to try out this Detail Makeover product. I already knew of the local brand through their Lip Ink, but I had yet to try out this strobe. I’ll admit, I rarely use highlighters anymore save for special occasions. But because of my recent obsession with all things orange-y, I had to try the Peach Pie strobe along with the rest of the colors.
Let’s talk about the packaging. The product comes in a compact case, which is something of a novelty for me since I’ve always stuck to stick lighters. However, I enjoyed how easy it was to control the makeup using your fingers. You can also use a brush, but I prefer how glittery and packed the end result is when you’re using your fingers.
Our Verdict
For its price, I’m surprised at how high quality and soft the product feels. The texture of the makeup product itself wasn’t any special, but it made the makeup much easier to glide on.
The product comes in three colors: a white shade named Vanilla Cake, a bronzey shade named Caramel Glaze, and the pinkish Peach Pie shade. I found the Vanilla Cake shade a little too white for my cheeks, but surprisingly, it worked well on my inner eyelids. My favorite is the Peach Pie shade, which I think is the most versatile. It works on natural “barely-there” looks for when you’re out running errands, or a full-glam look just in time for Halloween.
I was able to try the product during a small evening get-together. I really appreciated how the pigment is just right and doesn’t blind, but catches nicely under light. But my favorite part is that it lasts forever on your face. Your mileage may vary, but for the occasion, I had to wait around 3 hours before reapplying the product. For less than Php 200, this is definitely a steal.
