Each skincare routine starts with a splash of clean water and a good facial cleanser. The first part you won’t have trouble finding — it’s the facial cleanser part that can get a little bothersome.
Cleansing is a vital step in skincare. It sets the stage for the rest of the team players in your routine, including toners, serums, moisturizers, you name it.
It can be especially difficult for people who have oily or acne-prone skin. The Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam is a cleanser designed especially for those who have trouble with grease control. Is it worth the hype? We list down everything there is to know about this oil-control foam here.
About the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam
Having trouble with your oily skin? The Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam might be the product that can address that issue.
Often, when experiencing skincare issues, we rarely look at our cleansers to see if they might be causing a problem. But cleansers can make or break your routine. They set the stage for the effectiveness of the rest of your routine and they also alter the pH level of your face.
Having oily skin can be challenging in and of itself, so having the right cleanser can really help you focus on the rest of your routine, treatments, etc. Cleansing foams are recommended for this skin type as they are incredible at removing dirt, oil, and impurities on the face.
The Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam is also SLS and paraben-free, making it perfect if you’ve got both sensitive and oily skin. Plus, it contains Centella Asiatica extract to keep the skin plump and hydrated, as well as tea tree extract to fight acne-causing bacteria.

Ingredients of the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam
Before you buy any skincare product, it’s important to know what it’s made up of so that you avoid any harsh ingredients or potential allergens. Here are the main ingredients of the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam:
- Coconut Oil. Coconut oil is an emollient, meaning it can help soften the skin and make it smooth to the touch. Apart from that, it’s also a pretty common moisturizer that helps our skin stay plump and hydrated.
- Tea Tree Extract. Another favorite natural ingredient is antimicrobial tea tree extract. It’s been proven by research to be helpful in cases of acne, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness and healing of pimples/breakouts.
- Centella Asiatica. Centella Asiatica is big in Korean beauty circles, so it’s no surprise we’ve found it in another Asian skincare product. Its purpose is multi-fold: it offers antioxidant properties, hydrates the skin, alleviates some effects of sun damage, and helps revitalize a damaged or problematic skin barrier. You’ve also probably heard of its “nickname,” cica.
How to Use the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam

Our Verdict
Ever since the summer heat, my face has been feeling extra greasy. Normally, my face is on the dry side, but something about this season has my T-zone going overtime with sebum production. Sadly, my cleansing balm doesn’t always cut it, especially when I’m greasy and wearing layers of makeup.
That’s why I decided to put the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam to the test, and I was not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was the smell, which was incredibly mild and pleasant; not at all harsh to the senses, and that’s coming from someone with a pretty sensitive nose.
A small amount also goes a long way with the Cathy Doll cleansing foam. I opted for a pea-sized amount just to see how my skin would react, and I was surprised at how quickly it lathered despite being free of harsh, soapy chemicals.
I didn’t stray past the 30-second mark before I rinsed it off for fear that it would dry out my skin, but alas, no such thing happened. Instead, I was met with an oil-free face. The downside is it doesn’t work too well as a makeup remover, so make sure to go in with micellar water or cleansing oil if you’ve got a full face on.
Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam
I was pleasantly surprised at the Cathy Doll Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam. It effectively removed a lot of the gunk and grease sitting on top of my face without being too dry. I’m not sure how well it works to unclog the pores since the effects are pretty surface level and 30 seconds seems a little too quick to do any lasting effects on deep-seated dirt.
Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this to those struggling with excess oil production and those who have sensitive skin.
